Wake Up and Smell The Roses

There was something about the smell of spring. The smell after rain lured me, drew me in deeper wanting to know more. What was it about that freshness after a storm? It felt like the sunrise. A new beginning. What did that mean? The sun will always rise again. Winter will inevitably turn to spring, spring to summer, summer to fall and we will literally fall into winter. Once again, surrounded by beautiful flurries. This cycle made me feel at ease. At ease with the process. At ease with change. Ultimately, at ease with myself. The seasons will turn, the earth will make its way around the sun and we will be given second chances. Wake up and smell the roses. The freshness after the rain. Our reminder that spring will come again. How settling. So, I went outside and smelled them. The smell filled me. I let it pour into me and guide me into the day.
